THE DREAM HAIR STATION PROJECT
A very common side effect for children with cancer undergoing chemotherapy is hair loss. With such changes in appearance, these children may experience psychological issues like self-consciousness, low self-esteem, anxiety, or even depression when they leave the hospital to go to school or public places.
After surveying the demand for wigs (wigs made from real hair) at the Pediatric Hematology Department – National Institute of Hematology & Blood Transfusion, we realized that the children truly wished to have their own wig during the period when their hair hadn’t grown back after chemotherapy.
The Children’s Cancer Network decided to launch the “Dream Hair Station” project, through which we receive hair donations from the community and create real-hair wigs to be given to children at oncology centers nationwide.

THE DREAM HAIR STATION HAS A FEW IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR HAIR DONATIONS AS FOLLOWS
- Hair Length:
– Natural hair: at least 25 cm.
– For chemically treated hair: 35 cm or longer. We ONLY ACCEPT DARK COLORS, AND THE HAIR MUST BE SMOOTH AND HEALTHY. - Your hair should be washed, blow-dried, and CUT WHEN DRY. (We kindly ask donors not to send wet hair, as it can develop an odor and mold if not stored properly).
- The Dream Hair Station DOES NOT CUT HAIR and DOES NOT COLLECT HAIR from donors’ homes. (We are not a hair salon).
- The Dream Hair Station DOES NOT INCLUDE DONOR PHOTOS on the certificates.
- We need to COMBINE VARIOUS HAIR DONATIONS to create a wig for a child with cancer.
- The Dream Hair Station CANNOT SPECIFY WHICH CHILD will receive a particular donor’s hair.
- If Sending via Postal Service/Delivery/Grab… Please HANDWRITE your information on the envelope, or on a piece of paper, to put inside the envelope with your hair: Your full name, phone number, address, and email. This will ensure you receive A RESPONSE WITHIN 7 DAYS via our hotline: 0869.066.556 (SOME DELIVERY SERVICES, LIKE VIETTELPOST, MAY HIDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND INFORMATION IF YOU ONLY CREATE THE ORDER VIA THEIR APP. WITHOUT YOUR PHONE NUMBER, THE PROGRAM CANNOT CONTACT YOU.)

- Location: 3rd Floor, No. 119 Tran Dang Ninh, Dich Vong, Cau Giay, Hanoi (XXX shop is on the ground floor; please enter and take the elevator to the 3rd floor).
- Time: SATURDAYS ONLY
– 9:30AM to 11:30AM
– 2:00PM to 5:30PM. - Donors will receive a hair donation certificate directly at the office.

– SOFT COPY OF THE CERTIFICATE via Zalo/Email for free
– HARD COPY OF THE CERTIFICATE via Viettel Post. (For hard copy certificates, PLEASE COVER THE SHIPPING FEE, WHICH IS USUALLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF ROUGHLY 10K VND, so the Dream Hair Station can save funds for making wigs for the children.) - Sending hair to the Dream Hair Station means you agree to grant the organization full rights to use your hair.
