SEEDING CLASS PROJECT

The small project named “Seeding Class” originated from volunteer activities for young patients at the National Institute of Hematology – Blood Transfusion, starting in 2016 and continuing to this day. It was initiated by Hoang Thi Dieu Thuan – who also underwent treatment for leukemia and successfully received a stem cell transplant at the Institute from the age of 18, with almost 10 years dedicated for this journey.

Seeding Class

These children with cancer, like all innocent and pure children everywhere else, need care, protection, and love from their families and society. They deserve to learn and play, just as children their age should. For them, the illness is a major obstacle that can disrupt their studies, even preventing them from fulfilling seemingly simple dreams. These dreams might be a weekend trip to the park with their parents, a beach vacation with friends, a mountain hike for an extracurricular class, or simply getting to fly on an airplane just once.

Some specific activities that have been and are being carried out in the “sowing seeds” classroom project:

  • Reading books
  • Drawing
  • Singing and dancing
  • Creative writing
  • Learning English
  • Giving gifts to children on holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year)
  • Providing financial assistance for hospital fees and living expenses to disadvantaged children based on the list from the Institute’s Social Work Department.
  • Notably, monthly birthday celebrations are organized for the children, with gifts distributed throughout the department to approximately 200 children.
