MOTHER HANDS PROJECT

We can all imagine that children affected by cancer face more disadvantages than their peers.

Children with this illness must cope with daily medication, interruptions in their education, and numerous unwarranted psychological challenges for their age.

Additionally, the caregivers of these young patients, often their parents, must temporarily stop working to accompany their children to the hospital. This can exacerbate existing financial difficulties, leading to increased psychological pressure.

In April 2021, the “Mother’s Hands” project was launched, aiming to create embroidery livelihoods for parents of children with cancer. This project seeks to provide employment, income, and psychological support for mothers caring for their children during cancer treatment in the hospital.

Currently, the project is active at the Pediatric Hematology Department (H6) – National Institute of Hematology & Blood Transfusion (Hanoi), offering vocational training and employment opportunities to dozens of mothers caring for their children during treatment.

Beyond creating jobs and offering psychological support for parents of children with cancer, the “Mother’s Hands” project is committed to allocating at least 51% of its profits to support children with cancer and studious underprivileged children whose parents have cancer.

Products from the project include:

  • Embroidered fabric notebooks
  • Embroidered scarves
  • Embroidered fabric bags
  • Other accessories: embroidered hair clips, embroidered passport covers, etc.
